Covid-19 Operating Guidelines: Our 2020 Words with Wings camp will be held as scheduled July 13-17 and 20-24. We have developed operating guidelines to keep your students and our staff safe that are derived from guidelines established by the C.D.C, the Governor's office and the Missoula City-County Health Department. These guidelines include policies for limiting groups size to no more than 10, staff health checks, contact-less pick up and drop off, social distancing, and mask use when social distancing can't be followed. Under the current guidelines, students cannot attend camp if they are exhibiting any symptoms of Covid-19. Students are also discouraged from traveling out of state for two weeks prior to camp

Although following these guidelines will means camp will look a little different, we will still be able to provide the same excellent, personalized  writing instruction from our professional writers while keeping everyone safe. If you would like more details about our Covid-19 Operating Guidelines please reach out to Programs Director, Nick Littman. As our camp remains two months away, these guidelines may adapt to reflect the current reopening phase. Parents will be informed about any major changes in operations.

Full Day Camp (9AM - 5PM)

Our full day sessions offer an opportunity for students to build on their morning experience. We'll explore the Missoula community and its varied ecosystems by foot. These excursions provide guided opportunities for developing writers to observe and write about the world around them. This year we'll visit and learn about:

  • The Clark Fork River with the Watershed Education Network
  • How movement can inspire poetry with Turning the Wheel
  • Trees from all over the world at the Arboretum

Students need to pack their own lunch, but pre-packaged snacks will be provided throughout the day.
